Hi, I'm Curtis. stillwater is the app I wish I'd had.
I'm 31, a father of two, and a partner to my fiancée. I'm also someone who has struggled with mental health for most of my adult life — and somehow come out the other side stronger than I ever thought possible.
My story
I've lived through an abusive relationship. I've grieved people I loved deeply. I've been made redundant and had to rebuild from what felt like nothing. There were stretches where just getting out of bed was the bravest thing I did all day.
What pulled me through wasn't a single breakthrough. It was small, repeatable things — a breath when my chest got tight, a sentence in a journal nobody else would read, a quiet check-in with myself before the day swallowed me whole.
Slowly, those small things stacked up into something that looks a lot like contentment. Not a perfect life. A real one I'm proud of.
Why I built stillwater
I'm passionate about helping other people through life's hardest seasons — and reminding them that their own happiness is still in there, waiting.
stillwater is a calm corner of the internet for the things that helped me: tracking how you actually feel, breathing when the noise gets loud, journaling without judgement, a kind voice to talk to at 2am, and a toolkit you can reach for when life gets heavy.
If even one moment in here makes your day a little softer, it was worth building.
You're not behind. You're not broken.
You're a human being doing something hard. I'm really glad you're here.
