Hi, I'm Curtis. stillwater is the app I wish I'd had.
In 2020, I didn't want to be here. Today, I'm in a completely different place — with my fiancée, my children, and a sense of purpose I didn't think was possible. stillwater exists because no one should have to face life's hardest moments alone. Connection and understanding can change a person's story.
Curtis's journey to stillwater
In 2020, I didn't want to be here. I was at one of the lowest points in my life — lost, overwhelmed, and struggling to see a future that felt worth fighting for. When you're in that place, everything feels heavy. Even the idea of things getting better feels far away.
But life didn't stay there. Over time, things changed — not all at once, and not perfectly — but gradually, through support, connection, and rebuilding piece by piece.
Today, I'm in a completely different place. I've built a life I never thought I'd have back then — with my fiancée, my children, and a sense of purpose I didn't think was possible when I was at my lowest.
Why I built stillwater
stillwater is built on a simple belief: people don't just need information — they need understanding, timing, and support that actually fits how they feel in the moment.
Mental health isn't linear. Some days you're fine. Some days you're not. And most tools don't adapt to that reality. stillwater is designed to change that — helping people understand how they're feeling, notice patterns over time, and receive supportive guidance that meets them where they are, not where a system assumes they should be.
This isn't about replacing support from professionals, friends, or services. It's about giving people something in between — something consistent, intelligent, and compassionate that helps them stay grounded when things feel uncertain.
stillwater exists because I know what it feels like to be on the edge of losing hope. And I also know that things can change in ways you don't expect — even when it feels like they never will.
You're not behind. You're not broken.
You're a human being doing something hard. I'm really glad you're here.
